How we do it

Research: Through rigorous and ongoing research streams we are constantly revising our personal assumptions about the causes of continued violence and conflict within Nepal. We do so by conjecturing, testing hypotheses and building theories on the social, political, cultural and economic conditions in Nepal, which ultimately inform policy that can be easily harnessed at various levels of society.

Advocacy: We believe that every voice should be heard, so we work with local and national stakeholders, media and policy makers to address injustice based directly on what we hear on the ground.

Training: We provide a range of bespoke training to local and national level stakeholders, community activists, and media personnel on the basis of needs and key themes that can be customized to the environment.

Dialogue: We are a platform for people to identify challenges, commonalities and potential pathways to prevent and address violence and build sustainable peace, thus increasing societal resilience. Dialogue facilitated by NPI is characterized by impartiality, inclusiveness and a solutions focus.
