Core Values
At the NPI, our work is anchored in a strong ethical foundation and an unwavering commitment to justice, inclusion, and sustainable peace. These core values not only shape our strategic direction but also inform our day-to-day engagement with communities, stakeholders and partners. They serve as the guiding principles that define who we are and how we work.
1. Integrity
We at the NPI uphold the highest standards of honesty, ethical conduct, and accountability in all aspects of our work. NPI is committed to transparency in governance, financial management, and program implementation. We strive to create a culture where integrity is reflected in every decision and action. By consistently practicing what we preach, we earn and maintain the trust of the communities we serve, as well as that of our local, national and international partners.
2. Cooperation
Collaboration is central to our approach. We believe that achieving sustainable peace and social transformation are only possible through collective action and shared responsibility. NPI actively fosters partnerships with local communities, civil society organizations, government institutions, and international allies. Through these collaborative efforts, we build synergies, exchange knowledge, and enhance our collective impact, ensuring that our initiatives are inclusive, participatory and grounded in local realities.
3. Responsibility
We recognize our duty to act with accountability, care and diligence in pursuit of our mission. NPI is committed to ethical and responsive programming that respects the dignity, rights and aspirations of people we serve. We carefully assess the social, cultural and political contexts in which we operate, and we strive to ensure that our work leads to long-term, meaningful change. We take full responsibility for our actions and are continuously learning to do better.
4. Solidarity
Our work is rooted in deep empathy and a steadfast commitment to stand with marginalized communities, survivors of violence, and all those working toward justice and peace. Solidarity for us means more than support – it means active engagement in dismantling structures of oppression and creating opportunities for empowerment. We seek to amplify the voices of the excluded and co-create pathways to healing, reconciliation and resilience.
5. Intersectionality
NPI acknowledges that the experience of injustice and exclusion are shaped by the interconnected nature of people’s identities- such as caste, ethnicity, religion, gender, age, ability, and socioeconomic status. We commit to applying anintersectional lens in all our work to ensure that our policies, programs, and advocacy address the root causes and overlapping forms of discrimination. By embracing intersectionality, we aim to foster inclusive peacebuilding processes that leave no one behind.
