About Me:
Arina Kharel is an environmental professional and Climate Change Project Coordinator at Nepal Peacebuilding Initiative (NPI) with over seven years of experience in climate action and advocacy. She leads the project “Strengthening Policy-Level and Grassroots Capacity to Enhance Climate Change Adaptation for Marginalized Communities” across six rural municipalities in Madhesh and Gandaki Provinces, focusing on building community resilience through capacity-building, Climate Change Advocate Groups, and supporting local governments to mainstream adaptation priorities into planning and climate budgeting. Previously, she served as Policy and Advocacy Coordinator at Nepalese Youth for Climate Action (NYCA), contributing to youth consultations and policy recommendations for Nepal’s Second NDC and coordinating national-level youth climate convenings, including the 7th National Youth Conference on Climate Change. Arina holds an M.Sc. in Environmental Science from the Central Department of Environmental Science (Tribhuvan University), where she was a batch topper, and was an Erasmus+ KA171 scholarship recipient for academic exchange at the University of Debrecen, Hungary.
